What I Love about Art

I love the artistic side of me. It allows me to let go, play, and have fun. It is a spiritual and freeing experience. It feels great to just be and let my creative juices flow. And when I am done, I find that there is always a message that Spirit gives back to me. A reminder and inspiration to experience all that my heart desires. Through art, I have learned that my healing begins with my imagination. It is the bridge that opens the doorway to all possibilities. Art heals my soul and gives new meaning to my life.

Lovely Azizi - is that your work? I could tell when I met you last moth how creative you were - you exude it! Creativity is SO expanding and healing... I used to be int he technology world and thought i was not creative... then I discovered art, and I think it helped save me through many traumas that followed. It's so freeing to experiment - and I have, with drawing, painting, photography, acting and writing. Everyone should - thank you!

Thank you Barbara! Yes, that's one of my fun pieces of artwork. It sounds like you and I share a similar story as I also used to work in the technology world and it stifled my creative and imaginative nature. It's one of the reasons I founded my nonprofit (ZFusion) so that I could stay connected to my artistic side but also provide a space for others to express themselves through art and creativity. It is truly a transformative experience.

Azizi,

Your blog reaffirms my need to expand my office space. Recently I was meeting with a client and felt strongly that I needed to have her express emotions through art because "talk therapy" was not the most effective mode of intervention. Due to spacing issues, I couldn't walk her to another room or section of my office where this could occur. Have had that experience several times recently. I also very much connect to your last statement that art heals the soul and brings new meaning to life. It's part of what drives me to go to galleries and plays whenever I can, or to take art classes for novices. Great to see some of your work here too.
